How to Eat Healthy and Alkaline

Bloated Belly: What Helps?
A bloated belly is very harmless, but it is very uncomfortable and often painful. There are several causes behind a bloated stomach.
These can be avoided effectively with certain home remedies. A bloated belly arises from an accumulation of too much gas or air in the digestive tract, more precisely in the stomach or large intestine.
This is not a disease but rather a symptom that can have many causes and can affect any of us.
Bloated Belly: What Is It?
During digestion, natural gases such as nitrogen, methane, carbon dioxide, and hydrogen are produced. Nonetheless, air can also get into the belly while talking, eating, and breathing. According to studies, about 150 ml of gas collects in the intestine. Most of the gas is absorbed into the bloodstream through the intestinal wall and carried out of the body through the lungs when you exhale. The other part of the gas escapes as flatulence or comes out through belching. Up to 1.5 liters of intestinal gas can escape per day. When you're bloated, passing gas about 15 to 20 times a day is perfectly fine and is seen as normal.Excessive accumulation of air in the digestive tract can result from eating habits, stress, illnesses, and certain foods. When the intestinal gases escape rectally, it's called flatulence. But if the gas isn't released through belching, passing wind, or exhaling, the belly can bloat.
Bloated Belly: Causes of a Distended Stomach
These are the causes that lead to a bloated stomach:
- Food: spicy, heavily sweetened, high-fiber, and high-fat foods can be hard on the stomach and therefore cause a bloated belly.
- Sugar: increased consumption of sugar or sugar substitutes such as maltitol, fructose, sorbitol, or mannitol is to blame for a bloated stomach.
- Eating habits: people who eat fast and wolf down their meals swallow too much air, which leads to a bloated stomach.
- Lack of exercise: when the intestine becomes sluggish, the onward transport of food through the intestinal tract slows down. This raises the risk of a bloated belly.
- Smoking: smoking leads to inhaling excess air. One or two cigarettes a day are already enough to get a bloated belly.
