The Backstory of Getting Rid of My Belly

For years I've had the problem that my belly has to go. Every day I stood naked in front of the mirror and watched my belly grow. How can it be that a body part develops so much energy of its own and shows me every millimeter of growth so vividly?

More and more little wrinkles settled around my belly button. Soon it looked as if my belly button was forming into a mouth and grinning at me spitefully. Just you wait, I thought, I'll drive that nasty expression out of you. Of course, I had long since realized that, basically, I was to blame for the whole mess myself. It's just that you rarely want to admit that to yourself. The food simply tastes far too good to me. My mother is an excellent cook, and she would be the last person to tell me that my belly has to go. She's of the old school and likes it when her daughter looks well fed all around.belly gone

The Decision to Work Off the Belly.

Just as my belly button laughed at me again so cheekily early in the morning in the bathroom, it happened. I made the irrevocable decision to get rid of this ugly belly by any means necessary. During my lunch break I headed straight to the nearest gym and signed up. Not even the high price of the yearly membership could deter me. That had always been my argument for saving myself from those instruments of torture. Secretly I never wanted to lose weight, and I looked for every excuse not to have to tackle it. Never mind, it was too late now anyway. From now on I would work out on those machines for an hour every lunch break until I dropped. I owed that to myself and I was worth it. My friend Susan was tremendously proud of me, because she would never have expected that from a whiner like me. That in turn filled me with pride and ambition, and so I carried my grand plan through to the end.

With Success, the Belly Is Gone.

My diligence and discipline were crowned with successbelly gone. The bad times and the thoughts that my belly has to go are fortunately over now. A trip to the bathroom is no longer an ordeal. Now my belly button doesn't laugh at me, it smiles at me. My belly has shrunk so much in circumference that I can polish my own toenails again. When the belly was still there, I always had to ask my friend for that favor. Susan even invited me on a little weekend trip. She wanted to show that she is proud I had shed so many pounds. That moved me straight to tears, and I appreciated her as a friend even more.
